Microsoft launches Stream, a 'YouTube' for companies

22 Jul, 2016 02:04 pm

Microsoft has unveiled a new service to upload, share and organise videos for streaming in business.

For the time being, Stream is available in a preliminary format. During its beta phase, Stream will coexist with Office 365 Video, eventually absorbing all its features (downloads, sharing, etc). Office 365 Video will then be phased out.

Stream offers new features, such as for automatic translation, facial recognition and audio to text transcription (speech-to-text).
TAKEAWAY TRENDMore sensitive in terms of data than YouTube, corporate video platforms can effectively manage audiovisual content without requiring a major capital investment.
