The internal software connectors known as Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) are the new attack threat on the Internet of Things (IoT) device landscape.
Trend Micro VP of security Rik Ferguson has
said that it is the internal connector technologies (APIs) in our new connected
devices that represent the greatest malware attack threats.
Ferguson has called for action to 'lock
that part of the data journey' down.
"It's not about IoT device security and
locking down the devices themselves, that battle has already been lost. For my
money I would say that APIs are the attack surface of the future," said
