Businesses today are interweaved like never before - across the globe. My vendor is serving me, so that I can serve my clients who are in turn committed to their customers...and so on and on...In this world-wide cosmos of enterprises, the common criteria is, none of want to be out-of -touch (and neither can we afford to) with our respective service base, even for the minimal measurable unit of time. We might have international and national political boundaries...but are in effect under the same governance - that of economic demands. Hence we want the show to run on and on...there is but no option, if one shifts to a lower gear, even momentarily...there are 10 others to overtake...so being in business ...round the clock...all days...throughout the year is the order of the modern times. And thus the answer is BCP. The world has shrunk - courtesy the plethora of communication medium we have innovated for ourselves. Information and news are traversing distances even before they are properly being interpreted. The apparent impact of a negative news, is far more damaging to the brand and value - than the actual loss it triggers to the business. The momentary flash of a news of so and so organization, or company being down or has lost connectivity, can actually wipe off it's entire credibility and chunk of customer base - so the answer is a full proof realistic and test accepted BCP. So be on the vigil - every moment or it's fraction there of - if possible.
